In April, LCEC began installing
the underground 138KV
electric power transmission
line from Del Prado Boulevard to
South Cape Substation in the CRA
District. The first of three access
vaults was installed on SE 46th Lane.
When completed, the new
transmission line will connect the
substation in the CRA to the Everest
substation, completing a power transmission loop between major substations
throughout the city. This loop will provide alternate power sources to the CRA
area for increased system reliability and reduce the potential for overloading
the system.
